Michael Bice - CSU Stanislaus

There is no registration fee this year!

Interested schools can register simply by emailing Michael Bice. Coaches will be asked to provide a list of competing students at least a week in advance of the competition and will need to sign liability waivers provided by the University. We strongly recommend submitting the waivers in advance, but they can be brought with you on the day of the competition.

Competition rules for 2025 are the same as in 2024, which are available below. The competition will closely mirror past Math Superbowls, but we do not have enough test writers to run the Huddle competition.

2024 Rules and Regulations

2025 Competition Format:

The Blitz
The Blitz is an individual event for which quick computational skills are needed. Based on their current math course, students will take a test from one of seven levels: 7th grade math; 8th grade math; Secondary Math I, II, or III; Calculus, or Statistics. Up to fifty multiple choice questions may be on the test. In each level, the student with the highest number of correct answers shall be declared the winner.

The Bomb
The Bomb is a five-person team relay event. Official teams must be five entrants from the same school. The "test" shall consist of five pages, each containing five questions. Each member of the team will work one problem from each page. After the student answers a question on each page, they will pass that page along to the next member of the team. That page CANNOT be returned to that student. The team with the highest number of correct answers shall be declared the winner.

See the rules documents for the composition of the Bomb teams and more details of each competiton.

Please note: The Huddle event will not occur this year.
